<p>Sorry for my ignorance, but I am a very poor writer and I don’t know how to start an essay. I was asked to write about: “In a page, more or less, please tell the Admissions Committee what your are planning to study and why you have selected this field of study.” and I want to study mathematics, but starting an essay with just “I wish to study mathematics” sounds really crappy and lack of creativity. So how could you guys start an essay like this??</p>

<p>talk about ur heritage and math, but try not to be cliched bc ur asian and want to major in math:) thats why im majoring in biochemistry and african-american studies … btw what college is this for?</p>
