how to study for this...in blocks...sections?

Well I need to get a 33 or 34 on the ACT to make myself look good haha. My highest score is a 29 first time. I decided to get serious about studying for the ACT so I can prepare for December, the last chance the UCs consider your scores. How do you guys study? Is it much more effective to study in blocks in real test time conditions or sections…or take the whole test at once? What’s your opinion. Contribute here!

Hey tenacious, well I got a 23 in September but I studied ALOT for Oct. and I honestly think I raised my score to at least a 28. The method I used was to work on the sections I was weak in (I got a 22 in English but I got a 28 in Math in Sept.) so I studied more for English and a little bit for math. I studied in sections under real timed conditions every week day then take a whole test on the weekend. Do the UCs consider the whole ACT when considering applicants for admissions? B/C I’m trying to get into Georgia Tech and I know they don’t consider the science section so I didn’t really study for that at all. So it may be the same for the UCs or they may consider the whole thing. But I’m sure you’ll have no problem getting a 33 or 34 and GOOD LUCK!

Just keep doing practice tests. Get the Real ACT Book and Kaplan, and work your ass off doing the practice tests. That was my strategy. I think it worked.
