How to successfully transfer to another college?

<p>I am planning to to transfer to another college during the first year of the college I was admitted too. I have absolutely no idea what the transfer process is like, as well as no idea on how to properly and successfully transfer to another college. Here are some questions I have concerning the transfer process:</p>

<p>What is the single most important thing I should have to successfully transfer? In other words, do I need to have a good college GPA or what?
Do SAT scores still count when you transfer to another college?
Do AP scores still count when you transfer?
What variables go in to transferring to another college?</p>
