How to survive a tough GSI in Bio 173?

So I received IB credit for Bio 195 which replaces 171/172, so I’m taking Bio 173. Based off of basically unanimous opinion, your grade heavily relies on your GSI. How can you survive this class if your GSI is tough?

Office hours.

I mean just stay on top of your stuff. For papers and presentations, as @Fatsquirrel mentioned, use office hours religiously to get a clear cut view of what your GSI expects.

Some portions of your grade is still within your hands as 25% of your grade will come from 2 quizzes/mid-terms that will be the same for everyone. And even for the presentations/papers, even though everyone has different preferences, for the most part the distinction between a “good” paper/presentation and a “great” one is pretty noticeable, regardless of who your GSI is.
