Hello! I am currently a High School Junior living in the Midwest. I want to go to school on the East Coast, but my school only administers the ACT. I am trying to sign up for the SAT… somehow… but I am worried. I have to prepare for BOTH tests now! It’s currently early February (probably still is depending on when you’re reading this), and the tests are in late Spring. I haven’t prepared yet because I don’t know how, and can’t find a good, FREE, online study program. What should I do? Has anyone else taken both? How do I prepare?

I made a YouTube video on ACT study but you can also apply it to the SAT as I took both.
Nearly all colleges accept either the ACT or the SAT. Submit your best score from either test. (The idea that east coast colleges don’t accept the ACT is extremely outdated, by decades. Please look at their websites!!)
The SAT is not difficult to sign up for. Simply make an account at collegeboard.org and find date and test center (usually a local high school) that work for you.
Many kids take both tests to see which one they’re better at. You can try a practice test of each. Did you take the PSAT? Both Khan Academy and College Board have the College Board’s 8 free practice SATs. For the ACT, try the red book, The Official ACT Prep Guide. Your library might also have it.
