How to talk to your parents about boarding school

Hi all,
I need some tips about how to talk to my parents about letting me attend boarding school. I am currently a day student at a top ranked day/boarding school in the south, but I have been at the same school for 11 years and am looking for a change. I also want to attend a school as good as my current one, but there are no schools in my city that come close academically. I have talked to my parents, and they say that they don’t want me to leave earlier than college (I would be 17 the school year I plan to leave) I want to show my parents the benefits of boarding school (cost is not a problem, won’t be needing FA) but they won’t listen (keep saying there is a less than two percent chance of me going etc.) I have already researched some possible schools, and my favorites are Hotchkiss, Taft, Middlesex, and Governor’s Academy. If you were a hesitant parent, what made you change your mind, and if you are a student, how did you bring it up to your parents? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
