how to utilize Lien double for maximum storage

My D will be a freshman living in a double in Lien. Can anyone provide a somewhat detailed description on existing storage space per person in the room. For instance I know there is a closet for each person, but if anyone knows the dimensions that would be great. I’m trying to determine if we can fit any stackable units in the closet for extra storage. Also, my D thought there were shelves in the alcove where you enter, but any ideas to the number of shelves per person and the dimensions? Is there any extra wall space for stacking cubes - thanks!

Yes, there are several shelves in the alcove for storage. The room dimensions are on the Residential Life website. As I remember, the room was approx. 12 by 16 ft. It was rather small. The closets had 2 shelves over the hanging bar. There is a dresser w/ mirror, desk and chair. The bed can be raised so that you can store several containers underneath the bed. The room has carpet. Hope this helps.

My daughter will be in Lien. It says on one of the University sites that they provide a bookshelf - do they get one in Lien???

andioleary - I looked at your prior posts to see if maybe our daughters are rommates (they’rs not) and saw your daughter was awarded the Elliott Scholarship. What is the Elliott Scholarship and congratulations!

There is a bookshelf! Lein House is a very nice and clean dorm. There is plenty of storage (shelves) as you enter the dorm.

Hi! She will be swimming for the university - she is roomates with another swimmer - they found eachother on the Facebook WashU '11 site. She was awarded an Elliott Scholarship just 2 months ago -based on merit and need. The school awards Elliotts in the Spring - you don’t know when or necessarily why or how much; I believe it varies for each awardee. We were THRILLED when she got the award. She had not won any of the others she applied for, and this made the school financially feasible for us. Is your daughter also in Lien? - mine is on the first floor - corner room at the end of the hall (sub-free floor). She is sooo excited!

Wow, that most have been wonderful news. My daughter is on the second floor of Lien, and is happy she got her first choice.
