<p>I’m writing an essay for a scholarship at my school, and I need to explain the rather lackluster grades I received during freshman year. The truth is I had just moved out of a homeless shelter (because I ran away from home as a kid), so I want to explain all that without sounding like I’m having a pity party for myself. I would talk to a professor about it, but I’m afraid they’ll judge me about being from a broken home etc. Are there any grammar nazis out there that would be willing to proofread my essay for me? It’s short, less than 500 words.</p>
