I am thinking about writing a page on unusual circumstances in my life. But, I was wondering how it had to be written.

Should it be just a paragraph or two on the issue, or do I have write it like the other essay i.e. how I feel about it, how I overcame the issue, etc?

If the circumstances relate to your grades, it might be better if your guidance counselor addressed that issue rather than you. Otherwise, a short paragraph or two would suffice.

I know, but my counselor refuses to write it himself.

I go to an international school that is ranked in the bottom 35% of all schools in the country. The average GPA of my school is 0.84/4 (on standardized examinations). My GPA is 3.87/4, the highest my school has EVER had. The school has a yearly graduation rate of 29%, and 5% of students go to further education.

But, my school is full of itself. My counselor will never admit like that, so I asked the Depart for Education to provide me with the statistics to I could sent them to Harvard.

If you’re wondering why I still go to this school, it’s the only school in a 15 mile radius…

If the Department for Education gave you something official in writing, I would scan that as a pdf and include the document with a short paragraph or two of explanation. Best of luck to you!
