I need suggestions on how to write a college essay about life changing experiences. Like suggestions on the format, how to start off and how to end it, what details to include etc…I’m a really bad writer so i really need help !!

Get “On Writing the College Essay” by Harry Bauld. It’s pretty well-known and has everything you are looking for.

It’s quite easy. To get you started, here’s a differential equation I invented when I was doing college apps (later confirmed in my honors thesis):

dR/dSdZ=ln(aZ)exp(bS^2-cS)/(dR^3)

Where R is the essay’s rating, lower-case a through d are your standard coefficients, S is your “story,” Z is that elusive writing ability.

There are some neat things to realize about this model. The ln(aZ) term signifies that, as your writing ability improves at a set pace, it becomes less and less important for the end-product. The exp(…S…) term shows the importance of story, which is unbounded. And the inverse R-cubed term is simply your factor that self-limits growth, albeit at a very rapid rate. This “fast-maximum” can be interpreted multiple ways: since the maximum is reached quicker, the percent difference between a good and great essay can be profound, yet the absolute difference may be quite minimal. Draw conclusions from that as you will, I left that question open to ensure that I could get grant money for my dissertation.

LOL. why so mathematical? Is it proven to be effective?

^Like I said, I proved its predictive capabilities in my honors thesis.

And as to your other question, everything is mathematical once you think about it.
