How to Write Current Year Courses??

For example, I’m taking AP Physics for the first semester and second semester. The class counts as 1 credit total for the whole year. Do I write it like this:

First Semester Second Semester
AP Physics 1 credit AP Physics 1 credit

or:

First Semester Second Semester
AP Physics .5 credits AP Physics .5 credits

???

I would write it as .5. If all of your credits are .5, it will be obvious that your school only awards 1 credit per class per year. They ask for that to compare if you took a semester class for 1 credit and another semester class for say .5 credits. Does that answer your question?

So if I write it as .5, they will know that after completing the whole course, I earned 1 credit?

The first thing you should do is ask your guidance counselor. She will know the answer for your specific high school and its offerings.

However, I had asked this same question on another thread, and the response was this:

-For a year long, 1 credit class, I will write it as…

AP Physics; AP Physics 1 credit

So for you, you only wrote the number of credits on the second semester?

I’ll ask my guidance counselor.

That is what I did, yes, but definitely check with your gc.

All 7 of the classes I’m taking this year are 1 credit and both semesters. I thought I could just write, for example, “AP Statistics, 1 credit,” in the first semester column and that would be enough? :/

it would be better to put AP Statistics (and all your other classes) in both the first and second columns, indicate the credits as 1.0 in the second semester and leave the third column blank.

Thank you, griffen. So, in the first column, I would just not write anything about credits at all?

Your choice. You can put nothing in the first column and 1.0 credits in the second or 0.5 in each, whichever you believe is more accurate.

It sounds like putting 1.0 credits in the second column makes the most sense.

For example, I took Computer Science 1, an elective for one semester for .5 Credit. I also took Computer Science 2, another elective (but it’s really just a continuation) the following semester. That to me is really what two .5 Credit classes mean. They’re actually split up, as opposed to a year long Core 1.0 Credit Class
