See if any of your colleges of interest have an online “athletic recruiting form” available. The process will become interactive beyond that point.
First, compare your times with times from meets that include schools you are interested in. Use those time to figure out which schools you can reasonably expect to target.
From there, email the head coach and assistant coaches with information about your times. Most team websites have some form of a recruiting questionnaire. You should fill that out as well.
Depending on what division school you are targeting (d1 tend to be the better teams, d2 in the middle and d3 at the bottom, but there is some overlap), there are different rules about when and how coaches may contact you and/or respond to your emails.
^Good advice. Just be aware that it’s difficult in XC for college coaches to put your times in context because of the variation in courses. For that reason, XC recruits in the US are usually evaluated based on placing at State, Footlocker, New Balance, etc. If you have competed in any meets with a known, high level of competition make sure to inform the coach. Also, your outdoor track times for 1600, 3200 and 5K are something quantitative he can use to help evaluate you.
