How understanding are admissions offices?

So all the way through the first trimester of my junior year I had kept a strong GPA although I was dealing with health problems post remission and drunk/abusive parents while taking care of my little brother in this situation. However, on Thanksgiving of 2011 the police were finally called about my parents and the things going on in my home. My brother and I spent two and a half weeks in a shelter before moving in with our aunt 20 miles away. We had to get up at around 5 in the morning and didn’t get back until around 4:30-5 and then had AP classes to do basically only got a few hours a sleep. We lived like this for anouther month and a half then got moved back with our parents, but that had whole new problems. Long story short there was a lot going on then I got a serious concussion from a fight in my home. The situation kept getting worse and worse and naturally my grades dropped. I had a 3.798 GPA at the end of first tri jr year now I have a 3.422. I am taking 7 classes first tri sr year and hope to ace them all along with some online/summer school credits to try to raise my GPA. I got a 25 on my ACT with a concussion and I’m retaking hoping to get around a 31. My question is will colleges be open to accepting me even though my Junior year didn’t go very well and my GPA isn’t very strong anymore. I am looking at colleges like Rhodes College, St. Olaf College, Sewanee University of the South, Cornell College, and then some safety school. Do I have a chance?! (Please don’t be harsh or rude because the topics above are sensitive to me)
