How urban are these East Coast schools?

My DS seems to be broadening his criterion of an idyllic New England LAC to some larger research universities.
Some seem pretty urban to me, but have not visited. Could folks comment on how much of 1) a self-contained “traditional” campus setting and 2) safety concerns can be found at Temple, Pitt and Duquesne?

My frame of reference is the DC/Baltimore area. From my perspective GW very urban, but pretty safe. Georgetown urban fringe (?) but pretty safe. American residential area but pretty safe. Johns Hopkins urban fringe but on at least one side abuts a high-crime area. Thanks.

They’re so urban that coca cola is changing next falls ad campaign to appeal to them better using hip hop and break dancing

Pittsburgh is fine. Temple is West Philly, it wouldnt be as bad as the bad side of JHU.

Any urban location required some common sense.

University of Rochester?

Temple is North Philly. Drexel and Penn would be West Philly.

Oops confused it with Drexel.

According to my DW who just visited Duquesne it’s right in the middle of Pitt but mostly in a business area. Not sketchy at all as my DD would say.

I forgot to mention Case Western Reserve in my original post. Thanks.
