How Useful is Planning Old SAT Essays

<p>Who has tried planning old (previously administered) SAT essays? Does it work? If so, how well? How well did the list anticipate the prompt on test day? </p>

<p>Hmm. That seems doable, but this other strategy I read about seems a lot more practical. It involves knowing a lot about 5-7 broad examples, then narrowing the focus to fit the essay.</p>
