Just trying to figure out what to expect but how was your award presented? Did they have the full package available so you could compare costs (merit, athletic and financial aid)? We won’t qualify for any financial aid so we are relying on merit and athletic aid to cover most of the cost of schooling. Some of the schools have automatic merit aid so we know what is available there. Some of the schools she could potentially be offered a full scholarship but most likely it will be a half scholarship since that is the ‘norm’ for her sport. With the application season just weeks away, trying to get our ducks in a row.

Offers can’t be made in writing, so everything was verbal. Son has combo of merit and athletic and coach told him dollar amount of both, and then converted that total to a % of cost of attendance. Daughter’s offers have been athletic only - again, presented first as a $ and then as a %.

My son’s was presented as a % (all athletic) for first year, after that he was upped to more of a %, again all athletic, the percentage was on everything though, books, room board and tuition. He is D1. Daughter who is NAIA was a set amount (combo of athletic and merit) and was renewed for soph year at same level.
