How was your Thanksgiving?

Squeezing your hand gently, @Nrdsb4.

I wish the best of outcomes for your dad.

I’m so sorry to hear this @Nrdsb4 .

I enjoy a pretty table for events and holidays and paper plates don’t cut it, nor do paper napkins. I’ve also enjoyed sitting down to a hosts beautiful table at any event.

I leave the paper plates for outdoors.

We never use paper napkins, for environmental reasons. Generally we use the same pottery, mismatched, but simlar dinnerware as the rest of the time. I grew up with the crystal, special china, etc, but I’ve always lived in a small apartment or house, and am not going to find space for things that are only used once a year. I respect others on that, but it’s just extra buying and storing, to me.

And @Nrdsb4 , thinking about you and your family.

Sorry to hear your news, @Nrdsb4. Prayers for your whole family while you deal with this.

I am sorry to hear @Nrdsb4

So sorry to hear your news, Nrdsb4.

Also sorry @Nrdsb4

Our thanksgiving was low key. Went to my sil’s. Neither of my kids came. One kid never comes as it’s too far and too expensive for a long weekend and the other had work obligations this year.

It was fine.

So sorry @Nrdsb4.

I am sorry to hear the news, as well, @Nrdsb4 . Life is a series of ups and downs, and we need to make the most of every moment because we don’t know what the next moment will bring … or if there will even be a next moment. H and I just returned from his parents’ house, where we spent Thanksgiving with my 90 and 91 year old in laws. His dad is really going downhill quickly, and I don’t know how long we have left with him. My D and her new H hosted Thanksgiving for family and friends at their house, and I really missed being with D, SIL, S and his GF — but H & I needed to be with his parents. It was not the most fun T’giving ever, but it was important that we were with them. The trip down was hours and hours in heavy traffic, and it was really rough. The trip back was better, though - I will take the good where I can find it.
