I know the people on either side of our house…one is close to being an empty nester and had her home on the market for the last two years…the other bought the house in a short sale situation. The demographics have shifted in the last couple of years with newer families of younger children than ours…the kind of kids who engage in what I call * organized play * …soccer games and no random outdoor play like our kid’s did.
It’s a little sad , but some of the neighbor’s situations have changed because of divorces and losing a spouse to deaths. It’s a great neighborhood for kids…safe , spacious , good for bike riding , tree climbing, exploring the woods but most kids are now more interested in burying their heads in iPads , cell phones and other electronic brain drain activities than enjoying what nature has to offer
