I know adderall and all those like strattera are stimulants or cause insomnia, horrible side effects, dependency etc. but what about attend? I know it’s safe, but does it work? anyone have any experiences with it?

I’m really not familiar with this product. If I understand correctly, it is a homeopathic remedy? My reluctance to follow any of these “natural” product recommendations is that there is little to no FDA control on the product. You might try posting this on the Learning Disability Thread and find people who know more.

I did, absolutely no replies. I think this is the one that was approved. I also spoke to a pharmacist who recommended this over the stimulants because those are extremely bad for your health.

If a trusted pharmacist feels that it has no potentially harmful ingredients, then maybe just give it a try and see. Guess it can’t hurt? I’ll ask around and see if anyone I know has heard anything—will get back to you if I find out anything.

I have a son with ADHD who has taken both Adderall and Strattera. Adderall is a stimulant, but Strattera is not. Both were effective, but both had side effects. The Adderall caused severe weight loss and tics and the Strattera has caused some stomach problems. He is currently taking Strattera despite the stomach problems because he absolutely needs ADHD meds to function.

If you believe you are ADHD, I would recommend finding a doctor you trust to diagnose and treat. There are many meds for ADHD besides the two you listed. I have never heard a success story regarding any of the many pre-packaged non-prescription remedies.

Everyone does know what homeopathic means, right? It mean that the “medicine” is diluted over and over and over until only water is left. The contents of the bottle that you are purchasing IS WATER AND ONLY WATER!!! Homeopathic adherents maintain that the water has a “memory” of the medicine once in it, so it in effect becomes the medicine, but it is STILL ONLY WATER!!!

Now on to another subject. I have a deal on a certain bridge…

I have taken homeopathics for some illnesses- as have my children & we have found them to work pretty well
For Add- I havent’ found them to be as effective.
What works the best for us, is a combination of nutritional supplements ( EFAs for example) and medication

I read the ingredient list for Attend, and it isnt’ a true homeopathic, the combination of homeopathic ingredients, herbals, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, etc, makes it sound more like a kitchen sink.
The most effective homeopathics are usually a single remedy, chosen for you by a Dr.
I don’t think it could hurt you, something might work, but I wouldn’t expect a lot.
