How will a WP look to top schools?

I am currently a high school junior taking on a challenging schedule, earning very strong grades, and performing well on standardized tests. However, I managed to get stuck in a less-than-ideal Honors course. The majority of class time is wasted by students arguing with the (less-than-ideal) teacher over stupid test or homework questions. We do not learn in class, and I have to spend considerable time outside of school teaching myself concepts that should have been covered in class.

This class has already received a lot of criticism from students and parents, and many have opted to withdraw from the course and take it through an online option the school offers (the online grade will appear on transcript).

I am looking into some pretty high-caliber schools, and I’m curious to know how admissions would see this situation. My guidance counselor didn’t seem concerned since I already have very good grades and she said the situation would be explained in our letters of recommendation. However, I still have some concerns that my withdrawal/passing will raise some eyebrows when I apply to schools, and my main priority is getting into the right college.

Just some extra info: this is not my only weighted class- in addition to this course, I am taking three APs, one other Honors, and one regular course. I am earning As in all of them. I do well on standardized tests and have strength in a variety of extracurriculars.

Would I be better off withdrawing or not? How much will this affect my admissions?
