How will an undeclared student do in CAS?

Student doesn’t know what she wants yet, needs some exploration. Was thinking of some science and learning how research works. Is trying to decide if there will be support in finding one’s way or if a good LAC would be a better choice. Feeling excited by the admission but unsure and far from home turf. Strong overall student but no direction at this time. Thanks.

Same here, yet D admitted ED and is for sure attending :)

What a better place than an uni with 7 different schools to take courses from. My kid’s roommate was in CAS but transferred to the Architecture school for urban planning, and went to Stanford law. Another good friend transferred from CAS to Hotel. Cornell has the College Scholar program in CAS, where one could create a major.

Yes, it is good to read that transferring schools isn’t that hard. I doubt she will create major when being so uncertain at this point.

Students are free to take courses in any of the seven colleges, as long as they satisfy the pre-reqs. As a complete non-math/science student, I was able to take a Jr level engineering course. That wasn’t a very smart idea, but it was allowed! Dabbling is allowed and encouraged, as long as the student keeps an eye on her own program’s graduation requirements.
