How will college admissions offices compare a 94 GPA to a GPA on a 4.0 scale?

I have a 94.1 GPA and I know most high schools use a 4.0 scale. How would a 94 compare to, say, a 4.0? I know a 4.0 is technically supposed to mean straight A’s which I have and according to college board, anything above a 93 is a 4.0 but this seems a little generous…

To convert you need to get a transcript, with all your final grades from all your classes. Now convert each grade to the 4.0 scale using the chart from CB that you are talking about. Now find the average of the converted grades.

For example if I had :
90 Algebra
85 Biology
99 US History
88 English Lit

I would convert it to the following:
3.7 Algebra I
3.0 Biology
4.0 US History
3.3 English Lit

3.7+4+3+3.3= 14
14/4= 3.5

A simple D can drop you from a 4.0 to a 3.7. On the 4.0 scale, its more about how consistent your grades are, rather than the average.

That makes sense…thank you
