How will Harvard Evaluate my GPA?

I am from Nepal. The system here is such that my school transcript shows the marks in percentage. I have 78% in my high school which is very good by standards of my country. Since we don’t get GPA , How will they evaluate my GPA?

If you end up applying, then I would send something explaining the system to them. Otherwise, they might just take it as is.

Make no mistake about that. I will apply to Harvard for 2012 session.

Congratulations on the 78%. Go ahead and attach an explanation like browndbaternerd suggested. But Harvard’s admission office should be well acquainted with the Nepali Grading system/standards(both +2 and I.Sc.) by now; they have already accepted/reviewed other applicants with similar educational background in the past.

Nope, Denied dont even try

“Nope, Denied dont even try” - Someone’s an expert on the Nepali grading system.

i totally know what you mean. in my country my average is slightly above yours and considered “exceptional”. but my dean said she would explain this to Harvard…see if you can get a relevant school official to do the same for you. if you cant-relax- Harvard claims they evaluate the student in his/her own context and that they are familiar with various education systems.
