How will my application be viewed?

Hello!

I am a high school senior looking to apply to Princeton, Cornell, and possibly Dartmouth. After browsing this site for some time, I feel as though I haven’t seen a post from someone with a profile similar to mine. Please help me, I feel so overwhelmed by this entire process. Any advice or insight would be much appreciated! :)

THE CATCH/Other:
Last year, I had the privilege of traveling to New Zealand for a foreign exchange. I was there for eight months and attended the same high school as my host siblings. However, because the grading system was so different, my guidance counselor was only able to write “Pass” for each of the classes I took overseas rather than assign numerical values. I have no idea how this experience is going to help me as I have never talked to any undergrad who participated in an exchange during high school.
I’m a caucasian female. My dad has unfortunately been laid off for some time due to the poor economy and as a result I qualify for reduced lunch program at my school. I’m unsure of the importance of that last fact, but though I’d include it anyways.

EC’s:
JV Cheerleading, Cheerleading Captain (NZ), Dragonboating (Crew NZ), Freshman Mentor (NZ & US), STARS member (Students Teaching Aids Reduction Strategies), chosen HOBY participant sophomore year, Social Committee (NZ), approx. 110 hours volunteering in the Post-Anesthesia Recovery Unit at my local hospital

Please, I have no idea what my chances are. I’ll be so appreciative of any thoughts. Thank you for your time.

Pixelle

Not likely.

These schools are all probably going to be high reaches, given your SAT scores. It would be helpful to know your GPA (while attending school in the states) and class rank or decile, to confirm this. I don’t believe your adventure abroad will compensate enough for your lower SAT test scores at these top-tier, highly selective schools. Try to come up with some “match” and “safety” schools that you would be happy attending, making sure you have some financial safety schools as well. You are a solid applicant and you will do well in your college search. Good luck to you AND dad!

If the SAT grade goes up in November, how would it look then?

And I also have several other lower tier schools, I’m just curious about these ones. :)

Oh and my GPA was 95/100. I’m uneligable for ranking because I was away my junior year.
