How will transferring affect my chances?

So I did my freshman year of undergrad at Fordham University, and had to leave for financial reasons. I’m now a sophomore at Ramapo College of New Jersey, which is a tier lower and considerably less academically rigorous, but is what my family could afford. I currently have a 3.7 GPA. How will this affect my chances at law school, t14/t50?

I don’t think it will. If you continue to do well and make the most out of your experience at Ramapo (i.e. forming relationships w/ professors who can write you good recommendations and give you leads on internships, research opportunities, etc., getting involved on campus and taking on leadership roles) then you’ll be fine.

Transfer to save some money, get that GPA up and get some nice softs. Law schools don’t care about where you went for the most part, so give them the numbers they want to see
