How would academic integrity violation affect college admissions

I am a junior in high school and in end of February I had a spanish poem I didn’t know a few phrases and I used Spanish dictionary for it and my teacher said they are too high level words for me and asked me if I put the whole thing in there I said yes she meant the whole poem and I meant the whole phrase and that ended up in an academic integrity violation and such and such and now I realized it was a huge misunderstanding and I emailed my counselor and she said she would t report it in her letter nor will the guidance and my teacher said to get it removed I have to talk to my vice-principal(who isn’t replying to my emails at all) so I think it might stay and I don’t know if that shows up on my transcript so should I report it on common app and how Will it affect college admissions at Syracuse university, West Virginia university, Rutgers New Brunswick, Virginia tech, and university of Delaware.

That is an awfully long sentence that is difficult to understand.

Talk with your teacher, GC, and principal about the situation.

If an academic integrity violation stands, speak with your GC about how they will cover that in their recommendation letter. You will have to report it on the common app whether or not it’s on the transcript.

Sorry I was panicked when I wrote this. My GC said “We do not send behavioral reports or records from the guidance office. I will not make any report.” what should I do now?

Speak with the vice principal, as advised by the teacher. This is an extremely troubling and stressful time for all administrators and teachers, as well as it is for students and parents. You will, obviously, have to wait for the VP to respond, but it will happen.

Breathe.

As the teacher says there is the option of having it removed, perhaps the violation is one you were threatened with (and an assignment/grading period lowered), yet the teacher filed no statement after speaking with you. Is this possible? (You say you ended up in an academic violation situation. What does that mean exactly?)

When reporting such violations on the Common App, a required step per the information given above by @Mwfan1921 such, you will have an opportunity to explain what occurred which led to the academic violation, and how you responded to the charges in the moment, as well as what you have learned and taken from that incident.

Calm down for now, touch center and forgive yourself, and be prepared to speak and listen to your VP when that contact is finally made.

You will get through this.

My best guess is that Rutgers-NB is likely to reject you.

VA Tech will almost certainly reject you.

UDelaware is unlikely to accept you.

If you are a full pay student, then–again just a best guess–Syracuse may listen.

West Virginia might accept you.

Mistakenly over- relying on a translator app can be explained on the Common app and I wouldn’t worry about it so much.

The issue–as I understand it–is whether or not “an academic integrity violation” will appear on OP’s official transcript to colleges.

OP wrote: “I don’t know if it shows up on my transcript.”

My response assumed that it will.

While a word or two may seem beyond a student’s level, that can be explained by use of dictionary. thesaurus, or translator. But, in OP’s case, it appears that a significant amount of words comprising “a few phrases” drew the attention of OP’s teacher & OP responded in a manner that resulted in “an academic integrity violation”.

P.S. A careful read of OP’s initial post in this thread should focus on the teacher. Seems as though the teacher just informed the OP of the process to “get it removed”. This is an appeals process to the vice-principal. I have not read anything that suggests that the teacher has changed her mind about the occurrence of “an academic integrity violation.”
