How would an out-of-state student feel about attending SUNY Geneseo?

Our daughter is a serious student and strong competitiveswimmer from Illinois and Geneseo has caught her eye. How would a girl from Illinois do at SUNY Geneseo? Would she feel like a freak of nature being an out of state student? She is also concerned it is a “party school” (I went there from 1978-1982 and it certainly was then but I digress). How would such a girl fare at SUNY Geneseo today?

SUNY Geneseo has come a long way since 1978. It is considered to be the top SUNY college in NY. There continues to be more and more interest for Geneseo from OOS students and parents probably because it has been at the top of many national best value publications recently Kiplinger, US News etc.

That being said the student body is becoming more diverse.

I found Geneseo to be a very welcoming environment and from what I understand that hasn’t changed.

It really is a great place to spend four years!
