I’m very passionate about mathematics and being able to learn more about it. I received a 5 on by AP Calculus BC exam going into my senior year, which means I already have credit for Calculus 2 in college. The local university has Calculus 3 courses which I want to take, but won’t be able to because the times interfere with other high school courses which I have to take.

Due to this situation, I plan to take initiative and am attempting to create a new course at my school this year named Calculus 3. Only 3 students would be eligible, but all should go well. The teacher wants to teach the course and all I need is approval from my counselor, with whom I have good relations with.

Would taking the initiative to create this course to further my mathematical intelligence look good on my app or would it just be considered average?

There is more to the situation, but that’s all that is needed to respond I think.
