Accepted OOS NC
Does anyone know why they’re releasing the way they are? Is it alphabetical or…? I still haven’t gotten an email.

I just received my acceptance email, I actually got it at about 1 am but my gmail never notified me. I searched my inbox for Howard and it showed up.

@ifeum14 Make sure your email did not go to into your junk mail or get lost in your mailbox. I don’t want to make you nervous, but for the last 3 years since I have followed Howard admissions (including someone this year already) I have heard of students getting pushed back to RD because something was missing (transcript, official test scores etc.) from their application. Good luck and please let us know how it turns out.
We still are waiting for my daughter’s email. We keeping checking all mailboxes, including spam, and I even went on her Common App to make sure she didn’t forget to submit something. Is it possible some folks just haven’t gotten emails yet? We’re “johnson”, so if it were alphabetical we should have heard by now…ugh
@mrsjohnson2001 It is still possible from what I have seen in the past that all of the decisions have not gone out. I called Howard back in late October/early November because 2 other schools with portals had not linked my son’s standardized test scores to his application and sure enough, Howard has not linked his official test scores to his application. Howard would have pushed my son back to RD if those scores were not linked and the issue was because his name was slightly off (One system showed his middle initial and the other showed my son’s full middle name). Thank you! I know my application and financial aid info was complete which is why I am confused that I still have not received any decision email. I have been checking all of my emails including junk since 11:59 (the actual deadline). This is a safety for me so I am not too worried, more just concerned by the lack of communication. Wishing the best of luck to your son!

Still nothing whatsoever (no acceptance, deferral, or rejection) … checked everywhere. App was complete but even if it wasn’t, I would still expect some sort of communication. Congrats to everyone who has gotten news thus far!
My DS got accepted. Looks like they don’t send a portal link. Just an email with the announcement. And unfortunately, the office is closed for break until January. May want to reach out via IG. I’m sure folks are still working even though campus is closed.

Eastern time zone, email at 12:53am. Last name starts with a R. Maybe you can ask about not hearing back on admissions on one of Howard’s social media outlets? It bothers me that every year, they release decisions on the 2nd Friday in December and then immediately vanish until the 1st week in January because there are always some applicant issues. I understand that issues happen, but to not have a way to resolve them for 3 weeks is a black eye on Howard.
Still nothing at all… This is honestly really frustrating. I haven’t been contacted by the school since I submitted my application back in October.
