I’m a freshman taking Astronomy 101, Poli sci 101, Complexsys 250 and Public policy 210. The ones I’m worried about a bit is the complexsys and the public policy. Are those classes manageable? Is my workload too much? Otherwise are there any 4 credit courses that are interesting and might still be open?

I tried googling “Complexsys 250 UMich” and got this thread. What is it? WA says it’s about energy management? I’m reading the other course descriptions and cannot figure out what the field is at all. The website also doesn’t really clarify it. So… What is Complex Systems?

My adviser kept telling me to take the class because its interesting and challenging. From what I understood from the LSA course guide ([LSA Course Guide](<a href=“FA 2010 | CMPLXSYS 250 - Social Systems and Energy | Section 001”>FA 2010 | CMPLXSYS 250 - Social Systems and Energy | Section 001)) its about like demand and supply of energy, sustainability and the externalities of production/use, which seemed kind of interesting. But its kind of weird because theres really little info about the class. No textbook listed yet, cant find the professor on rate my professors, and c tools is basically blank. Its a 3 credit class though and I’m taking 15, if its not that great then I can drop it, but then I’d have to take 15 credits next semester to meet my ross pre requisites. Any comments on the other classes though?

If you want to transfer to Ross, remember you need to have Math 115 or 120, Econ 101, and a Freshman writing.

I got IB credit for Calc + econ, first year writing was full. Am a pre-admit so don’t even need to take hard courses first year. Problem is I’m an international so most of the courses I wanted were closed. I would’ve picked none of these

what? you’re exempted from econ cuz of IB credits? my friend had to take econ101 even though he got AP credits for it.

Yea I don’t understand that either, but I double checked it. They mentioned specifically at the seminar that only IB credit could substitute for the course
