I really regret only managing a 4 on the AP lit exam. Now I have to satisfy the second half of the RC requirement.

I’ve heard from friends that German R5b and Scandinavian R5b are notoriously easy grade-wise, so I intend to take one of these on top of 6 upper div technical courses.

What’s the work load associated with either of these classes (ie. how many essays, how long are the essays, how much reading, how many presentations, is attendance mandatory, etc.)? Anyone know of any classes that are easier than the aforementioned?

Thanks

i took Scandinavian R5b last summer, but we only had 3 essays, i think around 8 pgs? and read like 4-5 books but it largely depends on your gsi and what they want to emphasize, but this is different from fall or spring. my friend took Scan R5b and she said it’s not too bad.

Scan is not super hard, but you do have a good amount of reading and movie watching. It depends on the teacher and the focus of the specific course (I think there were 3 or 4 classes this semester with different/overlapping reading). I personally dig Norwegian and Swedish playwrights, so if you’re into psychological dramas, or like to read plays, it shouldn’t be bad.

I wouldn’t say attendance is mandatory, BUT because the class size is so small, if you miss a class you’re noticed.
