UIC Physics is an evil course. Average grades can easily be in the 50s. For Phys107, the average score on the first exam when I took it was a 32.
The Phys 105/06/07/08 is the algebra based physics course. The Phys 141/142/244 sequence is the calculus based course. Both course sequences are recognized as an acceptable intro course sequence. In the algebra sequence, you’ll find more pre-med/pre-pharm people, and in the calculus sequence, you’ll find more engineering students.
Summer school physics is a very intense course.

I guess I’ll take the Phys 105/06/07/08 then. I’m not that good at math, and took calculus 3 years ago, but forgot most.

I thought the UIC summer physics course might be intensive, cramming 10 credit hours in 8 weeks. My parents’ house is only 20 minutes away from UIC campus, and I hope to cram in as many credits as possible, since the In-State tuition rate is quite generous, with me paying the same tuition w/ no upper limit in credit. If the physics is that hard, I’ll just concentrate on this one 105/106/07/08 sequence

Btw, I notice that two separate lecture times are offered for each.

Am I allowed to register the entire 105/106/107/108 Sequence over the 8 Weeks?

That is, Am I allowed to take 1st and 2nd semester physics simultaneously? Or is 105/106 must be completely finished as prerequisite before 107?

You cannot take 107/08 until you have completed 105/06. For regular summer semester, undergrads can only take 9 hours without getting special approval. The 4 week summer semester has just started. They do not offer any general/intro physics courses during that period.

They will offer second semester courses in the spring, not only for physics but other departments as well. A lot of people come in with advanced credits. Either that, or college students wait a semester or two to take a class, since the spring time classes are jammed.
