How's this for a topic?

A simple, slightly tomboy-ish girl with a foreign (Jordanian) mom/family preoccupied with wealth, status, and partying.

Details I’m thinking of including:

Music is my life. (I play drums in a rock band with a “celebrity,” as well as the city symphony. I have a solo project going, in which I write my own music and lyrics, play guitar, and sing). I’ve been playing in bands since I was 11 years old.

I’m really into science. I’m doing an internship at the Burnham Institute for Medical Research this summer, and I sit in my room and read things along the lines of Scientific American articles for pure enjoyment.

Being a reluctant debutante (though I did enjoy it)

Turning down the opportunity to be in commercials and model when I was younger (not exactly sure if I’d make the same decision today, hahaha)

Mom pressuring me into wearing designer labels, getting my hair done, wearing makeup, etc.

I’m not sure if this would be relevant enough, but I have a great affinity towards nature.

Opinions? Is this clich

I’d say concentrate on something. Debutante ball sounds interesting.

^^^
I second it. It sounds that you could have a really interesting point of view of it as a simple, tomboyish girl
Good Luck :)

Thanks! Any others with advice?

The debutante topic does sound quite interesting.

How does one make a debut before even beginning senior year? Where in the usa do girls debut before 18?

California. The girl has to be either a junior or a senior.

That’s a lot of ground to cover in one essay.

The best topic for you, though, will be the one that allows you to be the most personal, detailed, honest and revealing in your essay. The one that allows you to write something that no one else could write.
