Hows this for an essay start..

Grr, I’m running out of ideas and just wrote down random stuff…

“Who am I? I am a human. I am a male. I’m not a boy, not yet a man, and no, I am not the male version of Britney Spears. I am a musician, a scholar, a sportsman who is handsome and popular – I wish. My ideal day involves watching soccer, playing soccer on the oval, going to the beach and playing soccer, playing indoor soccer, and teaching my dog how to play soccer. I believe …”

Do you think it’ll work?
I just wanna write SOMETHING down!

What prompt are you writing for?

“Tell us about yourself in such a way that we will have a good sense of who you are.”
250 words

I’m diggin’ it. But make sure you don’t just tell me who you are. SHOW who you are with some pertinent examples.

Try not to be too sarcastic, and it could be a very original and effective essay.

I started mine like this: “Who I am is not easy for me to say simply. Let me begin at a time when I would not have even understood the question.”

i think it could work…but just don’t overdo the sarcasm. but it’s good for a beginning…catches attention.

True, it’s attention catching (only the first 2 sentences), but honestly, I don’t think it’ll work. It shows “random stuff”, it doesn’t show “who you are”

The Opposite of ‘show who you are’ is ‘don’t show who you are not’

kinda sounds like hugh gallagher’s famous essay.

i started mine with Who am I? It is not easy to answer this question…
then some crap and then i pointed out, that all of the princeton applicants are good and very much alike,so i wrote about things that make me unique…
not all the hardworking student, good athlete cliche…
