Has anybody tried doing their NY state taxes with hr block online software? I have run into a problem at the end with the accuracy screen saying they found a problem with a missing New York form 213 which is some dependent form for dependents under 17. My son is 20 (his birthday is entered correctly) and I didn’t file this form last year and don’t need it this year. But the fix problem just takes me in a loop to you can’t file without form and then you are missing forms. I have tried reaching out to hr block.
Online chat robot just tells me what a dependent is and after holding on for over an hour today by phone, the hr block person told me they see the issue, but have no information as form 213 is not on their list of issues. She transferred me to a supposedly tier 2 person, but after being on hold another hour, the phone rang through and was picked up and disconnected.
I am wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue. I think my option at this time is just to use another software company. I have used hr block for years without issue and like that a lot of my info is preloaded, but I think it might be time to switch and just spend another day re-entering my information. What a waste of my time.
