HS junior, 3.35 to 3.38 GPA, chance me *please*

In-state.

Will have a 3.35 to 3.38 GPA by the end of junior year, 3.45 at the end of senior year first semester, 3.51 at the end of senior year. Fully plan on sending in the first semester report later specifying that the GPA will increase.

Mostly upward trend in GPAs, with a dip in sophomore 1st semester and a steady increase between sophomore and junior year, with a significant increase (to a 4.0) in the last semester of junior year.

Somewhat rigorous courseload. 2 honors classes + 1 upper level (ahead by two years) math class in every semester from the beginning of freshman year to the end of sophomore year. Two AP classes and 1 advanced math class (again, ahead by 2 years). Intend on continuing that trend, with 2 AP classes and MAYBE replacing the advanced math class with a 3rd AP class.

PSAT score of 211, 98th percentile, intend to replicate that score (2110) for the SAT or increase it. Also intend to take the ACT.

Extracurriculars:

107 hours of volunteering at the UW Medical Center hospital, can have up to 250-300 hours by the end of the summer, which is around the time I’ll start applying.
Member of 3 in-school clubs for the majority of junior year.
Work experience from a job (currently still working there) at a retirement home in Bellevue.
Currently enrolled in an out-of-school private art class/tutor which I have been doing for 8-9 years and have an extensive online portfolio of somewhat professional artwork to show for it.
May find another volunteering gig to diversify a bit.

Also - if this counts, though I doubt it - I’m 100% Russian.

I realize my GPA is low (11th percentile and lower in all UW freshman applicants) and I’m trying to compensate for it in EVERY way I possibly can. If you could suggest anything else I could do in the remainder of time I have (about 9-10 months left) then I’d really appreciate it. I know UW is an excellent school and I’ve grown to really love it during my time spent around the campus during my volunteering gig.

Thanks ahead of time.

How do you know what your GPA will be at the end of your senior year if you’re just a junior? Or is that just what you’re expecting?

Just worry about high school for now. Also, don’t bank on getting the SAT equivalent to your PSAT score, cause it usually doesn’t happen that way. However, an average GPA can be compensated with an above average SAT.

That’s what I’m expecting and I’m not going to rest until I achieve that goal so yeah, that’s how I know what the GPA will be.

And honestly I’ve focused on high school enough and I still will be focusing on high school later. I just want to know what my chances are right now regarding a university on UW’s level. As for the SAT, I know I shouldn’t count on it being exactly the same as the PSAT, but basically anything above a 1950 would be above the 75th percentile (above average for sure) for UW. And it’s not like I’m going in blind, I’ll take a prep class and study off the Princeton Review books. So yes, I am trying to compensate for a below average GPA with an above average standardized test score. So if what you’re saying is true then that does put my stress at ease a bit.

I got into UW with an ACT 26 Un-weighted GPA 3.34, Eagle Scout. Class of 2013

I can see that the Eagle Scout rank certainly didn’t hurt your chances of getting in…good for you though.
