It’s interesting to see that many alums on the NMH IG account are focused on bringing back football. Hopefully, school leadership will consider how a gift of this magnitude could transform the school in broader, more impactful ways.
Which is funny, since they didn’t get rid of football because of budgets but because they had multiple years in a row of not enough kids who wanted to play to field a team.
and the PR says " will endow need-based scholarships and expand support for faculty."
It may not be up to school what to do with the money (or at least not all of it?). this gift may displaces current spending in that area allowing for other things, but doesn’t seem like donor intent.
I am admittedly extrapolating a lot from PR - but donor restrictions are a bit unknown.
