HUGE Problem for CGA

Here’s the new find:

[Congress stays out of Coast Guard Academy picks | The Daily Caller - Breaking News, Opinion, Research, and Entertainment](http://dailycaller.com/2010/09/29/congress-stays-out-of-coast-guard-academy-picks/)

You didn’t think this Congress [or most any Congress] would actually DO something about the issue; did you?
Just throw out the topic for some conversation and hope everybody forgets about it in the meantime.

Still not sure of why CGA should not be subject to MOC appointments. Why/How did this system develop?

Bill, I tend to agree with you. This isn’t over for a long shot. It will come up atleast once a yr.

It will tried to be forgotten just like it has been for so many years-that’s why CGA is in the mess they’re in now…

Not sure how the system was developed but I’m pretty sure it was hinged on the annual test-(actually a two day exam in February, a competetive written exam and the other a medical/physical exam) that all applicants took at the Academy. Obviously this was done away with but I believe this old system continued until SAT’s and ACT"s came on scene.
