Hey,

I am a junior civil engineering exchange student who is currently at UIUC until may 2013.
I have registered in the following classes and seem to have a massive workload every week:

MATH 221 Calc 1
CEE 460 Steel structures 1
CEE 470 Structural analysis 1
CEE 405 Asphalt materials 1

When I joined, I didn’t appreciate the time spent on homeworks. Every week I have easily 25 hours of homework. My hardest class is steel structures as they set long homeworks nearly every week, due on thursday 8am. I find I am overloaded midweek, staying up to midnight doing homework. I wish I had spread my technical courses over the 2 terms, but anyway I am looking for advice on how I can cope through this term. The annoying thing is that each homework is worth a tiny percentage of the final marks (2-3%).

I had so much work that I missed out on the career fairs :(

I use the math tutoring which is very useful, but are there resources for the other classes. Also does anyone know where I can get past papers for the classes?

PS: I heard about the horrible TAM prerequisite classes where ppl can spend over 20h on a lab report. So luckly I dont have them!
