dude, I think this has national attention. ABC News issued a “breaking news alert” last night when the verdict was announced.

Indeed it has. Just a few posts seemed to stress less media coverage in their neck of the woods than ours…

I think it has been followed nationally…my family in Calif knows the details.

If he gets 26 years, could he get time off for good behavior? (hope not) Will he have periodic parole hearings?

The judge instructed the jury he would not be eligible for parole.

The bar for “courage” has now been set at a new all-time low. I think a more accurate quote would be “Huguely has displayed an amazing capacity to sit on his butt in an 8x10 cell for two years, waiting for the furor to settle down and his father’s money to retain attorneys who could arrange to prevent him from spending the next 70 years in a cell.”

GaDad…I totally agree.

A courageous person doesn’t beat a smaller person to death…that’s what a coward does.

well said, gadad. I know the accused have the right to a competent defense, but sometimes I wonder how these guys reconcile their words and actions with the truth.

It boggles the mind…

The biggest flaw in our legal system is that it is not about finding truth.
