Does anyone know how heavily these service trips weigh during the admission process? Is it more preferable to go on one of these, or say, an internship?

Well, it’s a general fact that if you pay to do something/go somewhere, it’s less “prestigious” than if it was free (like RSI/TASP/SHARP) or paid (good non-fast food job or internship.) So, I’d do the intership IF I liked it. But if the internship wasn’t going to be that awesome, I’d rather do the trip. Even better, try to apply for one of those Rotary things (they’re free study-abroad programs that look really good). There’s also one to India that’s free sponsored by SAGE.
