I am a student at Fordham University and I have to declare a major soon.I am really interested in international relations, anthropology, and humanitarian studies. I want to help people, connect with them, learn about cultures, but also understand the politics of the areas that I hope to visit.
I think that the IPE or International Development and Economy is the best major at my Liberal Arts University. It will keep me on track with my interests (international relations) and give me a solid skill (economist). However, I am terrible at math and don’t know if I would like to spend my life being an analysis.I also don’t want to kill my GPA because I’m struggling with courses I have no interest in. Honestly, I just don’t know if my skills can meet the rigorous math requirements for this major.
However, I’m also not exactly sure that Humanitarian studies will land me a job after graduation. It is more inline with my passions, but I have to think about how this choice will affect my life. I am not quite sure what my future will look like if I choose to follow this route.
If anyone has any experience with these two majors, or can just give me some insight on the pros/cons of each option that would be great. Thank you in advance!
