Humanities Courses required?

Some universities require the undergrads to attend a few humanities (history or pol sc) and english language courses. Does Princeton also require this?

google is your best friend. Yes, Princeton, along with almost all universities has general education requirements, which includes humanities and english courses.

Thanks

I believe that every accredited US university has some kind of general education requirements that must satisfied for a first bachelor’s degree. I’d be very curious to hear about any exceptions.

Usually they require coursework or equivalent demonstrated competency in 1) Math, 2) English composition, and 3) a small number of broad categories such as “physical sciences”, “social sciences”, “liberal arts”, etc. They do not usually specify a subject such as “history” or “poli sci”.

Oh okay! Thanks @FCCDAD‌

BTW, some universities like GeorgiaTech have very specific courses one must take (like history, pol sc etc)

AB and BSE have different distribution requirements - see the link @guineagirl96 posted above. All first year students are required to complete the Writing Seminar, regardless of your area of concentration, even if you enter with advanced standing. AP courses in writing or other advanced writing work may not be used to satisfy this requirement. Otherwise there is a fair amount of variety/choice within most distribution areas.
