HUMANITIES SYMPOSIUM: Did it help?

Of the new Princeton Class of '06, did any of you guys go on the symposium? And did andyone who went get deferred?

class of '10 :)

I wanted to go to that but I didn’t get invited… hmm I think no one from Texas goes

DEFERRED!
O well, guess it makes no difference.
…ahh ****. Now I gott aapply everywhere else. EVERYWHERE!
What are the odds of a Deferral gettin in?! EH?!

I went to the Symposium and I am convinced it was the only reason I could possibly have gotten in.

I went, I’m in, and all I can say is, I love the Humanities Symposium.

I must be the first person in history to have attended the symposium and not get in. Ouch. Its not like I was rejected, but, Ouch.

yes i too was at the symposium…and today i was deferred…bah! what is a girl to do? i think the symposium must be the only reason i wasnt’ flat out denied. this is not fun. any thoughts on how to get in later? also, did anyone find the symposium to be very strange in the way that professors said things like, “next year take my class” when (obviously) we dont all get in?

Hells yeah!
It was all like “WHEN your here next year” or “Youre gonna have a tough time choosing which classes to take when you get here” or whatnot!
I mean, AUGH!

ok stupid ? but what is the symposium???

Yeah, I went to the Symposium and got deferred. That panel with students telling us what it was like to go there and stuff really gave me false hopes. They made it seem like “nerd recruitment” but obviously it wasn’t. I’m just hoping to hear better news in April…

Well, youve all made me feel better, cause I was convinced I was the only one who went and got deferred. thx!
Stay strong, I hear they accept more deferrals than regular applicants. I dunno how that can be true since regular applicants probably outnumber deferrals 5:1. Enjoy!

I think it’s unlikely that they accept more deferrals than regular applicants…more likely that the acceptance RATE is higher.

I went and I’m in…
I still want to know how many people from the Midwest went to that, whether you got in or not. We were definetly in the minority, as I remember.

symposium? someone elaborate…
