Humanities teacher rec

What classes would be considered humanities? Would Spanish? Language is technically humanities. I’m asking because I do nothing in my Eng class.

Unless they specify English/History on the form, foreign languages are in the Humanities division here, and so are fair game.

Foreign languages are NOT “humanities” as far as the teacher recs go. (This question comes up every year).

Why do you do nothing in your English class? Is it the quality of the teacher, or the lack of interest you have for the subject? If it’s the latter, than Chicago isn’t the right place for you, as the skills you hone in English class-- reading, writing, critical thinking-- come up here in the Core.

High school english classes are awful. Just because he doesn’t like his classes doesn’t necessarily mean anything. I only remember one class that I really liked in high school – the teacher gave us so much leniency, yet I think I learned an incredible amount of material in that course. The English classes that everyone else liked I personally disliked because of the mass amounts of reading we had to do. Coerced reading is so unenjoyable (yes, here as well – ESPECIALLY here, actually).

Well, unalove, I’d have to say both factors. I really don’t know if Chicago is the place for me. It has caught my attention though.

I’m very unsure about choosing any college to apply to. I’m just asking questions now instead of later.
