Anyone else have kids participating in [Humans vs Zombies](http://humansvszombies.org/)? Crazy as it sounds, I’m kinda in awe of my son who is coordinating this event at his campus and has involved over 15% of the campus population.

Of course, I’m also a little surprised that any campus would go along with it.

Our campus tried it way back in October or November and it got shut down due to someone carrying an airsoft gun (against the rules). They got approved to play again starting last week or the week before with strict guidelines. I saw a guy walking around today with his bandanna on and socks in each hand. He was looking around like crazy… I thought it was hilarious. lol

When we toured Whitman 4 years ago our guide was playing in the game (as a human) and asked us to warn him about zombies as he walked backward around the campus. We didn’t go a good enough job looking out for him, and he was nabbed by a zombie as we left a building.

If you do a search for Humans vs zombies Reed College
, you will find a training video at the top which is invaluable to survive until your summer internship.

See the Goucher info under cc’s campus vibe. There is a video of HvsZ in action (at the school that originated the game). If reminds me of the kind of playing I did as a kid.

Reed also plays Capture the Flag
I never went to summer camp more than once ( my parents couldn’t afford it), but my kids went for years as campers/counselors.

Reed seemed like camp ( with homework- a * lot* of homework)- glo opera, human chess , castle storming & bike jousting et. al, during Renn Fayre, cookies in the library during finals and every Sunday when my daughter attended, they had read alouds of Harry Potter while students knitted.

I am not sure what Western Wa University does along those lines- but my D asked for small, sneaky squirt guns.
