We are in the process of gathering info from both companies, using S and N’s and Costco’s decorator services. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I found Smith + Noble available on the Internet and in catalogs- but not in stores. Hunter Douglas was just the opposite. They are not sold on the Internet and you can only find them in speciality stores.

I like Hunter Douglas. You need to find a really good installer though.

We just had a vertical from Hunter Douglas installed by Costco. Very happy with it…a little more expensive, but their quality is very good.

I ordered Smith & Noble wood blinds for my playroom about 10 years ago. Perfect fit for the windows and they have stood the test of time.

I am behind the scene of window treatment manufacturer, although I do not work or own them, but I am involved. The plant does some OEM for the big names, in my opinion, the material and the workmanship are all in good quality. The difference is in the installer and the user. If you have bad installer and abusing user, the stuff will not last too long. I had my vertical blinds installed by a flea market installer, it was still fine after 20 years, until I sold my house.
