Hurricane Sandy area students can still get Bama's scholarship offers.

I just learned that students who live in the Sandy area had their scholarship deadline extended to Jan 18th. While that may not seem like much time is left, the school’s app and scholarship app are VERY easy…no essays, no teacher recs, etc. The apps take like 5 minutes.

Those with an ACT 32+ or 1400+ M+CR and a 3.5+ GPA get a full tuition scholarship.

Those with an ACT 30 or 1330 M+CR and 3.5 GPA get a 2/3 tuition scholarship

Eng’g and Comp Sci majors get an additional 2500 per year, AND, if you’ve only qualified for the 2/3 tuition scholarship, then the Col of Eng’g will bump your award to full tuition as well.

So, if you live in the Sandy area, and you still need a financial safety, quickly submit apps to Alabama. The campus is gorgeous, the academics are strong and the people are friendly.

Bama has a brand new Science and Engineering Complex…very state of the art.

Bama just hosted a recruitment reception on Monday night in NYC area. Over 160 NYC area students attended the reception. NY sends a good number of students to Bama. Because a College Confidential Long Island mom was a speaker at this reception, I learned about this scholarship extension.

The following link is from the Col of Engineering, BUT it also includes the University scholarships that are for ALL majors. It also lists the Eng’g 2500 scholarship and the scholarship that “bumps” a 2/3 scholarship for Eng’g and CS students.

Feel free to visit the Bama forum here on CC for more info. The forum is very popular and you’ll meet people from all over the US.

Thanks! I know some of my son’s friends just applied, but they thought they couldn’t qualify for scholarship. Passing this onto our counselor now.

Bumping! :)
