hyphens tested?

Is the use of hyphens tested on the ACT? As far as I know there are a LOT of exeptions…even to the rule in which you’re supposed to insert hyphens only when the hyphenated word is preceding something. I’m using the Barron’s ACT book, and it seems to contain superfluous information. Should I just start taking tests instead of trying to get through the dense material?

Yes they are on the English section.

What hyphen rules are you talking about?

I took the ACT a year ago and there were hyphens on the test.
