I just had all 4 of my wisdoms pulled a week ago…30 may, and its been a week and I’m still in a little pain, but I’m gettin through. I was wondering if the hypocodone that I’m taking will be an issue after the urinalysis. My prescription says vicodin/hypocodone so I’m not sure which I’m actually taking, but will they be an issue?

Google it, but I think that vicodin is metabolised in 24-48 hours.

Vicodin is the trade name of hydrocodone+acetominophen. So basically it’s tylenol plus an opiod derivative. Hydrocodone is a fast acting opiate derivative (the ‘one’ ending can usually be taken to mean fast acting as opposed to something like oxycontin which takes longer to act). The half life of Vicodin is 3-4hrs and it’s excreted in your urine.

Basically every four hours you have one half less of it in your system. Typical dose is 5mg hydrocodone w/ 500mg tylenol. So in four hours you’d basically have 2.5mg in your system, four more hours would be 1.25mg and on an on. I’m not sure when your report day is or what the lower limit is on the DOD drug screen for opiates, but if you’re worried just claim it before you take the test and tell them when your last dose was and be ready to have proof of a valid prescription.

Cool…thanks

first your were addicted to Essence and now vicoden? get off the drugs james!!
